British and French royalty in Kensington

Since May 2009 I have been contributing a guest blog to Country Life – http://www.countrylife.co.uk/blogs/property - featuring a number of historic homes with great stories of former residents.

My latest submission has just gone live and thought it worth highlighting here. http://www.countrylife.co.uk/property/article/384334/A-very-Royal-address.html

Ovington Square - London

Ovington Square - London

No.41 Ovington Square is located in a quiet and picturesque part of Knightsbridge in London, but has significantly been associated with residents directly linked with French and British royalty.

The Duchess de Narbonne was one of the firest residents in the house and was directly linked with Comte de Narbonne, illigitimate son of Louis XV and later aide-de-camp to Napoleon. Later, from the 1890s, the house became the home of another resident with royal links, Henry Edward Fitz-Clarence, who was the grandson of King William IV.
